I've been building, making, and creating since I was a kid. Some of my earliest memories consist of lincoln logs, blocks, and LEGOs strewn about the floor with the radio playing whatever I landed on that day. My love for building and creating has carried directly through into my adult life. My time spent working in the construction trades while pursuing an interdisciplinary art degree eventually converged when I transitioned into mechanical engineering & design. Before pivoting into the digital space, I helped design complex physical systems — ranging from material handling systems and lifts to power supply products and gas & electric utilities. While my mediums have evolved over the years, a common thread ties all of my work together:I love a good project. And I approach every project with a curiosity and enthusiasm that guides me regardless of the medium.
I look for projects where I can fully immerse myself and employ my technical and creative skills equally, seeking balance between art & engineering. Making broad connections while getting my hands dirty with the details. There is immense satisfaction in seeing a concept through from its initial spark, navigating the messy middle phase (the fun part), and ultimately turning it into something tangible that exists in the real world — whether that world is physical or digital. Enter my current focus: designing for print, digital systems and the web. There is always a new problem to solve. New software and skills to learn. A new industry to immerse myself into. A fresh path to discover that balances tangible technical constraints with subjective creativity.Helping people navigate these technical and creative challenges to visually communicate their ideas keeps me engaged and energized. In a rapidly changing world, I look forward to continuing to use this balance as my north star.
